All drivers know the area incredibly well from it‘s history past and present, to the question of ‘Why all the bookshops?’
Hay Literary Festival starts on Thursday 23rd May and finishes late on Sunday 2nd June.
The first two days during school hours Hay Festival hosts special events for local primary, and secondary schools. Access to the site is limited during these times.
However, Hay on Wye town is open for business. Plenty of things to do and see!
Lose yourself in a bookshop! From poetic verse in The Poetry Bookshop, to a ‘whodunnit?’ in Murder and Mayhem. Books on every subject. Make sure to bring an oversized suitcase, plenty of room to smuggle books home in.
Hay has a lovely range of independent coffee shops and cafes. Always a good choice on offer.
Ice Cream. A HUGE selection of ice creams on offer at Shepherds Ice Cream. Rum and raisin, double chocolate, but not the pistachio for me thank you!
Canoeing, cycling, walking, and horseriding. Plenty of activities to do.
Call in with our friends at Want To Canoe, and enjoy the peace on the river Wye.
Cycling is availible too, pop in to Drovers Cycles. Bicycles for hire for all ages, helmets supplied too.
There are some glorious walks in the area, Offa’s Dyke Walk following the border between England and Wales is a favourite.
Horseriding - Tregoyd Mountain Riders, Bryngwyn Riding Centre Rhosgoch, Grange Farm Capel y Ffin - what a wonderful way to view the countryside.
We can provide transport for various activities.
From Weddings to walkers, canoeists and cyclists, nights out, and celebrations.......
Or simply just to pop to the shops!
